Important:
These website Terms are not your recovery agreement. If you engage us to work a claim,you will be asked to sign a separate written agreement. That signed agreement sets your specific fee,scope of work, and obligations for that claim, and it controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

2. What We Do
Center for Asset Recovery is an asset recovery specialist. We audit and research records of governmentagencies across the United States to locate funds that may be owed to rightful owners, and we help thoseowners, their heirs, or other persons legally entitled to the funds through the claims process. Our workincludes, as described on the Site:
State unclaimed funds
— funds arising from dormant accounts, forgotten inheritances, uncashedchecks, and other overlooked assets that have been turned over to the state;
Tax foreclosure overages (excess funds / surplus)
— the amount, if any, by which a tax sale priceexceeded the taxes, penalties, interest, and costs owed;
Mortgage foreclosure overages
— the amount, if any, by which a foreclosure sale price exceeded theamount owed on the mortgage plus foreclosure fees and costs; and
Bankruptcy and other government-held overages
within the services described on the Site.
We identify potential claimants, help verify entitlement, prepare and submit the paperwork required by theholding agency, and follow the claim through the agency process. We work with experienced attorneys whereneeded to help ensure paperwork is completed correctly.
3. We Are Not a Government Agency
Center for Asset Recovery is a private business. We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliatedwith, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any federal, state, county, or local government, court, tax office, orunclaimed property office.
The funds described on the Site are held and paid by government agencies and courts under their own laws,rules, and deadlines. The holding agency — not Center for Asset Recovery — decides whether a claim isapproved, the amount to be paid, to whom it will be paid, and when payment will be made.
You may always file a claim directly with the holding agency yourself. Our service is offered for people whoprefer to have a specialist locate the funds, verify the requirements, and handle the paperwork for them.

4. No Guarantee of Recovery, Amount, or Timing
No statement on the Site, in our marketing, or in a conversation with us is a guarantee that funds exist for you,that you are entitled to them, that a claim will be approved, or that any particular amount will be recovered.
Funds may have already been claimed, may belong to another person with the same or a similar name,may be subject to liens, offsets, competing claims, or agency deductions, or may no longer be available.
Eligibility, priority among claimants, required proof, and deadlines are set by the law of the state and therules of the agency holding the funds, and they vary by state and by type of claim.
Deadlines can be short and, once passed, funds may be forfeited or become unrecoverable. Contactingus does not stop or extend any deadline unless and until a proper claim is filed with the holding agency.
Past recoveries for other clients do not predict or guarantee a result in your case.
5. Eligibility and Proof of Entitlement
To recover funds, a claimant must show that they are the rightful owner of the funds or are otherwise legallyentitled to claim them — for example, as an heir, personal representative of an estate, assignee, lienholder, orauthorized representative, where the applicable law allows such a claim.
Depending on the claim, the holding agency may require government-issued identification, proof of address,proof of ownership, a death certificate, probate or heirship documents, a deed or sale record, businessrecords, or other documentation. We will tell you what the agency requires for your claim based on theinformation available to us, but the agency may request additional documents at any time and may deny aclaim that does not meet its requirements.
6. Fees, Costs, and Payment
Our fees for recovery services are contingency-based and vary by client state and by service. Your fee will bestated in the separate written agreement you sign before we submit your claim. Please read that agreementcarefully before signing.
As stated on the Site, there are no upfront costs to you for claims over $10,000. Claims under $10,000 have asmall administrative fee to cover costs. Any exception, additional cost, or different arrangement will bedisclosed in your signed agreement.
Where a contingency fee applies, our fee is earned only as provided in your signed agreement — generally,when funds are recovered for you — and is calculated on the amount actually recovered, not on an estimatedor advertised amount. If no funds are recovered, no contingency fee is owed, except for any administrative feeor cost expressly stated in your signed agreement.
You are responsible for any tax consequences of funds recovered for you. See Section 10.
